What is it about Lake Powell that makes it seem like everything is right in the world?
I love the fact that my husband has learned to love the heat, the beach and the water and boating.
With being in New York for the past two years, we couldn't go another summer without a trip to Lake Powell. We couldn't make it when all my other siblings could this summer due to the Parker Family Reunion, so we headed up the week after Labor Day to enjoy a beautiful 4 days at the Lake.
We thought we would miss most of the monsoons going in September, but alas, we still had a few storms to endure.
Thankfully, our tents all stayed secured and a little dirt in our food never hurt anyone!
Jill & Matt, Dave & Joy, and Grandma and Grandpa joined us on this quick trip and we
were sure glad they did! It's always fun when our family comes!
Here are a few pictures of all the fun things we did that week

Selfies
Seriously, Cole is such a water baby. It was hard to get a picture of him NOT on the tube!
He would come in on one boat and head out on another.
Trigg, Cole and Jarem
I love the fact that these boys get along so well together. Cole would pick going with Dave and the boys any day of the week and twice on Sundays. Love having brothers!
We even managed to get Grandma on the tube once this trip. Jared promised to give her a nice and easy ride. It was one of the only ways we could get Luke to go on, but at least he did it!

Any time this kid could convince the driver of the boat that he could drive, he was right there steering away. Such a cutie!

I must say, I do have the greatest parents....EVER!!!
Wendy, Luke, and Liz
We missed having Sarah and Austin with us this year, but grateful they sent our little buddy Luke!
Lizzie and Luke had a blast!
I love this cute little boy! And his crazy hair!

Sand Mountain, up Navajo Canyon
You can't really get to Sand Mountain this year because the water levels were too low, but that didn't stop Tate, Kevin, and their cousin Kylie from finding other things to climb

We also had to fit in an ice cream stop at the marina on the way back from Navajo Canyon!
And of course, cliff jumping off Turtle Rock
Dave had to show us how it was done
Cole and Kate even got me to go a few times and after a while Liz did too!
We were so glad that Tate got to squeeze one more Lake Powell trip in before he leaves for his mission in October to Costa Rica.
And of course, Wakeboarding!
I was quite impressed that Jarem was able to get up and stay up for a while this trip.
If Jarem could do it, I had to try. I'm not as good as Dave but I was able to at least start to get the feel for it after several tries and encouragement from Dave, Tate, and Kevin.
Jared is actually getting pretty good too. I think he likes it more than skiing

I hope that this will always be a tradition we keep in the family.
There is something about Lake Powell that just makes all your cares and worries go away.
Thanks Mom and Dad for starting this tradition and keep it going!
