Birthday Boy!

With each passing year, I still am amazed at how fast they grow and how much they change in such a short time.  I can't believe my oldest is now 11!  Cole is such a fun-loving, responsible, funny, intelligent boy who has almost outgrown me!  He is now 5'3" and if I'm not wearing my heels, we can see eye to eye!  Before I know it, he'll be looking down on me!
This year, he has developed a love for not only football and basketball, but for street hockey!  The boys are out there playing every day after school and he stays out until dark.  He loves to read and reads so fast that I can't keep enough books on the shelf! He is MORE than excited to move on to 11 year old scouts and start doing campouts and have a little more independence. His biggest challenge this year is that he wants to go a whole year with NO soda or candy to earn $100.  He gets 2 days out of the year to eat candy and soda.  He chose his birthday, which he enjoyed an IBC rootbeer, and the day after Halloween.  So far so good!

Since it was an odd year, it was a birthday part and this is what we did....
Family Dinner with the Grays and David Dunyons - Homemade Alfredo Sauce, Spaghetti, and pasta and Homemade breadsticks
And Ice Hockey Cake, which, yes, he ate this year!

Presents - His favorites were his Watch, Disney Pin from Grandma & Grandpa Dunyon, Scout Shirt, and Lego Police station

Gotta love Janee!  And a few rounds of playing Mafia!  Should this worry me?
And to top it all off....Sausage and biscuits for this boy's birthday breakfast before school!  I think his food preferences take after his father's!  I am so proud to be this young man's mom and so proud of all the great choices he is making and how he sets such a great example for his younger siblings.
Happy birthday, Colio!
