Thanksgiving in Utah

I think that going to Utah for Thanksgiving has become a tradition in the Parker Family.  Gone are the days of working the Christmas tree lots, but that doesn't stop us from seeing our relatives for Thanksgiving!  So, with that, we put on our Turkey hats, grabbed our snow jackets (the kids are always hoping for snow), and headed north of the holidays!
Luckily for us, Micah and his bride, Sydney, were getting married in the Salt Lake Temple the friday before Thanksgiving.  We traveled through the night to make it up there for the wedding.  Little did we know, our trip was going to be a little more eventful than we thought. We loaded the kids in the care and started out mid-afternoon on Thursday and we were traveling fine until 1.5 hours later, Max said he didn't feel well, and unfortunately I wasn't fast enough with the throw up bucket.  As we pulled off and cleaned it up, we just thought it was car sickness.  But a mere few hours later, we had it revisit us and he was down to his jammies and a stripped car seat.  With another 6 hours to go, it wasn't looking good for us.  Fortunately, the kids fell asleep, Max in my arms, and we made it safe and sound to Grandma Parker's in the wee hours of the morning.
With that eventful trip, we decided it best that Jared go to the wedding and I stay out with the kids just to be sure none of the rest of them got what Max had.  They all woke happy as could be, thankfully!
We enjoyed the day on the temple grounds, visiting with family and a great reception in the Joseph Smith Building. We were a little early for the Temple Square lights this year, but regardless, it was still beautiful!  So grateful for temples where families can be sealed together forever.

And even though it wasn't a lot of snow, there was still snow a few days out of our trip where the kids could make snow balls and throw them at each other.  Their little hands froze but they didn't seem to mind!
We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Natalie and Steve's house with all her kids at home and got to even have Jacob and Victoria spend it with us at Grandma's!  The girls just ate Victoria up!  She was such a good sport and loved the attention she got from the girls.  We're so lucky to have her marry in!
Of course, we had to make gingerbread houses, another tradition with Grandma P, and make designs with melty beads.  Something they ALL look forward to doing at Grandma's!

We even got to see Jason and Heidi's family for a day at "Boondocks" playing on the go-karts, arcades, bowling and laser tag, but unfortunately the photographer was unable to capture any of those moments together.

We even got to capture this cute Grandpa and spend some time with him playing games, showing us his "mouse" and eating his candy.  Oh, how I love my Grandpa Storer.  I wished we could have taken him home with us to sunny Arizona.  Max just couldn't get enough of him!
We spent only one night with Adam and Jessica in their new home in West Jordan area.  How glad we are that they are closer too!  The girls were BEGGING to stay longer and spend time with Kyra and Kjersten and told us we needed to come back the next weekend.  They just can't get enough girl cousin time, that's for sure!  It was great seeing them again and spending the time playing games and watching movies and being with their family!
And just like that, after a week of spending time with family and fun, it was time to load up in the car and head home.  It's always such a fun trip to Utah and wished we were closer to spend more time with the ones we love!
