So with our summer happenings, one of my highlights was watching the kids do swim team. Every morning Cole was in the pool from 6-7 a.m. swimming the entire hour. His coaches this year did not let this boy rest for more than 3 minutes inbetween strokes. They taught and helped Cole perfect his strokes. Kate enjoyed going and getting better at swimming but both she and Lizzie refused to compete at the meets. Kate is actually a very quick swimmer but even after trying to encourage her to compete, she still had no desire. Lizzie is quite the swimmer too and would often pass several kids in her lane as she practiced.
Cole was the only one who wanted to compete and this year he was grouped with the older kids. He was one of the youngest kids in his division but could keep up with them! He has such a strong backstroke and butterfly and would often pass those in his lane as he worked on those strokes.
So this year, in the final meet, he decided to do the 100 freestyle and the 200 IM. I was impressed he wanted to do the longer heats! He would get so nervous before the heats but I was so proud of him!

I am so proud of this kid and his determination to get up every morning just to jump in a pool 5 minutes later and swim for an hour and to be there for the competitions. He has such determination and focus he is going to do amazing things! Love my Cole boy!
