I know I already blogged about the first day of school, but here are a few fun pictures of Kate's first day of school. Jared, Sarah, Luke, Liz, and I were all there to send her off and Cole was such a great brother to get her to her seat on the bus and walk her to her classroom. It was cute to see the two of them together and sad at the same time to see Kate run off to school. She is more than ready to have that in her life and ready to be with friends and learn everyday. She loves it!

The other side note is that on Sarah's birthday, while she was here visiting, we decided to take her to a local apple orchard and pick some apples. The apple orchards around here are supposedly amazing and will serve apple cider donuts that are to be to die for. So off we went, found the patch of apples we wanted to pick, and set off with bags in hands. Luckily, Sarah thought ahead and sprayed us down with bug spray because the mosquitos were out in full force. After the kids QUICKLY picked the apples and put them in the bag and a few pictures to document the occasion, we jumped back in the car and tried to head out. However, after a wrong turn, we got stuck in the mud. Despite our hopes and efforts of trying to unstuck the car, we had to wait for the big green tractor to tow us out. Now the meaning, "You think my tractor's sexy," has a different meaning to me. After much laughter and a thoroughly dirty car, we paid for our apples and headed home for delicious won ton dinner and zebra pie to celebrate Sarah's birthday. I know that this birthday for Sarah will be one that I remember!

Sarah made me take the picture to remember the moment of laughter. It doesn't look that bad but the man who pulled us out said that we were pretty deep in the mud and not going anywhere fast! He said I wasn't the first and certainly wouldn't be the last! Thank goodness for green tractors!
