Birthday Celebrations

This year's celebration for Liz was a Bubble Guppie party! She started out by wanting an Ariel and Dora birthday party and then a few days before the actual celebration, she changed her mind, just like a girl can do, and changed to Bubble Guppies. Since there are no things to purchase for Bubble Guppies, we had to make our own party supplies. Kate enjoyed making the party hats for everyone and we got ideas from Nick Jr. as to what to serve and then put all sorts of colors of streamers all over the kitchen. Liz even helped hang her own streamers!
Then we printed off a cut out so they could get their picture with a Bubble Guppie....They loved playing with that and singing all the songs.

Cole's face was a little too big for the hole but he was a good sport anyways!
Then it was time for the celebration! We listened to music and danced in the kitchen while the final food preparation began.
The dogs were cooked and created...
The decorations were placed in the cake....the kids helped placing the characters where they wanted them to go.
The drinks were made....and tasted deliciously bubbly
The jello was cut out with sand put beneath our starfish
And after dinner, there's the cake blowing where everyone had a turn! I was just fearful that the people would catch fire and had to stop after a while as the candles burned down.

Presents were opened and it was a late bedtime and we didn't even get to play any games. For the next few days we celebrated over and over again with the presents, cake, and party hats. There was way too much cake and we needed more family to come and help it disappear! Maybe next year!

That weekend we went to Boston, pictures to come later, and met up with Jared's mom, sister, and brother-in-law and then Jared's mom, Dorene, came back and celebrated my 34th birthday with us. It was a relaxing day, the sun shone, and we spent time making a new recipe of Banana Cream Pie, chicken pillows, and playing games with the kids. They loved riding their bikes outside and spending the day in the sun. The kids couldn't get enough of Grandma Parker and thought she needed to stay longer and play more dolls. All around, it was a great week of Birthday celebrations! Thanks to all the friends and family who called or facebooked birthday wishes! You're the best!

I have decided that spending our birthdays apart is way no fun...

I hate it when I miss me a good Bubble Guppie party. You always do such a great job with their parties, I'm just sad we had to miss this one. (I may never forgive Jared...)

Happy Birthday to you both. We all love and miss you!
