Kate's Fourth Birthday

Now how can you not just love that face? I figured I would give the update of the actual birthday happenings....a little late than never....Kate decided it was to be a Tinkerbell party this year. Kim was so willing to do our doll hunting for Tink while Kate and I decided on what it would look like, oh, and do Kate's make-up in the meantime.
We celebrated on Sunday after Kate's birthday with the traditional Sunday dinner - Chicken Pillows, of course - Kate's favorite, with Dave & Joy and their children, and Kim & Jeff and their children. Kate was surrounded by lots of love as she opened her gifts and played with her cousins.
And in keeping with tradition, Kate was the first to blow out the candles followed by everyone else in the room. I can still hear Kevin saying, "I'll take a piece from the back of the dress." Quiet but smart man.
After presents and cake, Kate wanted a pinata, and she even chose what candy went in. You know, I am raising a candy connoisseur.
There was swinging, and I'm not sure if everyone even got a turn to bat, but there was more than enough candy to go around. Trigg was cute and only picked up two or three pieces and he called it good. I think we even restuffed the pinata and tried to put it back together to let the bigger kids have at it.

At the end of the day, I think Kate just loved having her cousins and family surround her and we sure appreciate our family being a part of our traditions and birthday celebrations! Mom and Dad even got to be here via Skype and watched us eat dinner. Thanks, Mom and Dad!

Funny, when I saw the update I thought it was wrong. I am sure you already blogged about this, but alas no, and now through pictures we are able to relive it all over again! I can still hear the bells tinkering! Aren't we due for another birthday party soon? I need a party!
