Crack an Egg, it's Easter!

This year for Easter, it was a crazy, busy week full of half day school and warm weather and days at the park.  We started the week by dying our easter eggs, which, we have never done before.  The children loved dipping them in the colors, of course, Kate wanted her eggs to have EVERY color.  That didn't work so well.  I was also able to go with the youth to the Easter Pageant and experience that fantastic play and see the reenactment of the life of Jesus Christ.  What a great experience to have if you haven't seen it, the next time you're in town for Easter, it's a must do!
A few days later, we made homemade Marshmallow Eggs - a tradition that Jared's mom did when the children were younger.  Although, if you ask Jared, he has no knowledge of marshmallow eggs whatsoever!  The next task was making the Sunday dessert.  We found this cute idea on family fun and thought it would be neat to have an Easter basket cake.  The children enjoyed placing the jelly beans and eggs on top!
Next, came conference weekend.  How great is it to be able to hear the leaders of the Church and remember why we celebrate Easter and remember what we are to be focusing our lives on.  Here are our three beautiful children that we have been blessed with on our Sunday afternoon.
No matter how busy life gets, I need to remember to take more pictures and capture the everyday moments that make me grateful that I can be a stay at home mom to experience them all (good and the bad).  Just look at these cute faces, how can you not love that?
Lizzie is always more than happy to eat chocolate for breakfast!
The two monkeys on the hunt for Easter eggs.  We've gotten smarter through the years and have put their names on them so Cole doesn't find all the eggs before Kate does.
Kate was cute, after she found the eggs, she would crack them open on the side of her bag and let the candy fall out into her basket.  Just like real ones!
Ready for the hunt!
Lizzie found her basket right away!

Of course, Kate was the official taste tester.
Cole thought the tool to dip the eggs with was pretty cool!
Lizzie, on the other hand, just liked being able to carry around the eggs.

After all the celebration and activities of the week, here is what it is all about.....family!
Oh yes, and a few days later, as I was cleaning out the pool, Kate thought it would be a great idea to go swimming as I was working outside.  Me, I thought the pool was a little cold at 68 degrees.  But that didn't seem to bother them!  Crazy girls!
