Mexican Riviera Time!

Watch out cruise, here we come!  The dental office I work for made some goals for the past year and we were able to meet them, and because I work for some amazing dentists, they rewarded us with a week long cruise!  Jared was able to come and because of three amazing sisters.  Jill and Sarah brought their children and were willing to put their lives on hold and come take care of the children while we took off for a fun trip.  Kim also cleared her week and was the supporting sister once again!  Thank heavens for sisters!
Jared and I jumped in the car Saturday night, drove through a crazy rain storm and got to my parents late Sat. night.  We joined them for church Sunday morning and then it was off to the boat.  The first two days were spent cruising all the way down to Puerto Vallarta.  It was filled with entertainment, food, food, oh, and more food!  Fortunately, they have an exercise room where you can attempt to work some of that off!  We also enjoyed a few formal nights, card playing with the group, and talking the nights away.
Here are the girls from the office on our formal night.  What an amazing group of girls to work with!
Every night there was a performance that began at 10:00.  Some nights we made it, other nights, it was karaoke night!  We got some good footage of everyone who performed, including the bosses!
Movie night on the deck.  Nothing better than a pina colada, popcorn, and movie! Yum!
Our night in Puerto Vallarta was spent walking the boardwalk, taking pictures, seeing the city, and of course, shopping!

Our day in Puerto Vallarta was spent walking to Walmart, yes, you heard it right, Walmart, and then off to the group excursion.
Four years ago, Jared did this zip line and highly recommended this to my bosses.  They were game!  They loaded us on this zodiac type boat, cruised down the beach 20 minutes to a secluded little beach.  Loaded us in a big truck and went half way up the Sierra Madre mountains, loaded us up in harnesses, and then put us on mules (which, I learned, are half horse, half donkey), and sent us up the other half of the mountain.
Then, it was off to hike up a little further to the first zip line.  My knees were trembling, I'm a little scared of heights, and this was my first time zip lining.  They hooked us up and let us go!  Down a few zip lines, which, I felt went REALLY fast, and then to the repelling down a waterfall.  These guides moved really fast from one person to another.  I was amazed!
The two of us repelling.
Check out the drop from the top.  Jared has no fear!
First time repelling and it had to be down a water fall.  Go figure!
This was the zip line after we had repelled down the water fall and I got completely drenched!  I am a little more relaxed here than at the beginning.
I think Jared was supposed to be a Tarzan in a different life.
Next stop was Mazatlan. Dr. Jenkins and Jeanette convinced us that we needed to rent mopeds with them after a morning of snorkeling and seeing some amazing fish around the bay.  Fortunately, they had 2 mopeds left!  Love the helmets!
As we cruised around Mazatlan, we stopped for a bit on a local beach down in the "Golden Area," grabbed some Pina Coladas on the beach and Jared and Dr. Jenkins decided to parasail.  They took off right off the beach, cruised down the shore line for 15 mintues and landed them right back on the beach.  It was awesome!
Cool Riders, we are Co-oo-oo-ool Riders (I hope you're all singing the song from Grease right now).
The city of Mazatlan
Can you believe that we found a car from Utah in Mazatlan?

The last day was spent in Cabo San Lucas.  It was a little cloudy and we didn't have much time in port.  We spent the day on Lover's Beach just enjoying watching the skurfers - if that's what they're called - and shopping around the town.  It was nice just to be able to have a low key day and enjoy a day of napping and relaxation.
There was one more day cruising back to Los Angeles.  We spent the day reading books, eating more food, playing cards and sleeping.
Our last day on the cruise...back to reality!
Thanks to an amazing family and great husband who enjoys vacations as much as I do!  Here's to another fun trip and great memories!

i loved your description of all the fun activities you got to do. I bet it flew by so fast. Vacations tend to do that. I remember we had such a blast in Costa Rica on our last vacation that we didn't know how to make the time slow down. I'm gonna have to book a cruise for our next vacation....but it'll be your turn to watch Luke!
